On 14-15 November, the fourth international conference and industrial exhibition “Innovative Energy Solutions for Military Applications” (IESMA 2018) is taking place at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO.

"Innovative energy solutions play an important role in strengthening and modernizing the military. In addition, they help our countries to strengthen their energy infrastructure and to diversify energy sources. Energy security is one of the main pillars of resilience to modern threats. Thus, it is necessary for NATO member and partner countries to consolidate their forces in order to ensure energy security," said Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister Darius Skusevičius in his welcome speech.

      D. Skusevičius was glad about the growing international focus on the conference, which was organized by the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence in cooperation with its partners. This testifies to the relevance of the event in the preparation of NATO member and partner countries’ response to the challenges of today.

This year's event brought together about 500 representatives from NATO headquarters, NATO member and partner countries’ military and civilian institutions, as well as academic and industrial communities. The conference was organized by the Centre in cooperation with Georgia's State Military Scientific Technical Centre DELTA and NATO's new Emerging Security Challenges Division.
